When I first heard about Plurk, I thought it was a joke. Well let me tell you, it isn't!

I truly lucked out yesterday while sitting here in SL just working on a few projects when I heard the Plurk "new message" sound. I looked over to see that Maddox DuPont was putting out an offer I couldn't refuse to attempt. It was be the first so many ladies to IM in SL and they would get some NEW free hair. Well, some other Plurkers beat me to the punch, but I ended up with this wonderful surprise to have "ANA" coming my way in various colors.

I love this hair! It's kind of victorian meets goth. I will say this much though, it is wonderful! I played around with styling it up and sent a picture over to Maddox just to show him how it looked. Next thing I know I am standing in the studio being shot from all angles.

Luck looked favorably on me yesterday. Thank you Maddox and Plurk for a fruitful afternoon!

Celebrating its fifth year in the virtual world, the 2009 American Cancer Society Relay For Life of Second Life is set for July 18-19 as avatars representing cancer survivors, caregivers, their families and the millions of passionate supporters gather virtually to celebrate the lives of those who have battled cancer, remember loved ones lost, and join the American Cancer Society in fighting for every birthday, threatened by every cancer in every community.

This year’s virtual world event is expected to attract in excess of 3,000 participants as more than 125 teams unite toward reaching a fundraising goal of $250,000. In 2008, Relay For Life of Second Life raised $215,000 – surpassing its total for the previous three years, combined. The latest announcement showed the current standing of 56 million lindens already raised and the walk has not yet begun.

After a rather busy day I stopped into the Grand Opening of "Island of Silk". I have to say, it was a breath of fresh air at the end of the day.

After taking a little raft across the pond I came around a corner to find a little vegetable garden. It is fittingly called " Lets Get Grubby" and built by Keikei Baxton. It was a nice way to end the day, spending time in the garden, feeling the fresh dirt on ones hands. Keikei, please, keep building things like such.
